Summer 2011 (Oooops for Girls Only)
I can’t wait to have a vacation and jump to that saltwater and enjoy sunlight. I love going to beach, walking at the shore under the sun enjoying the salty breeze. I think once in a while we need a break from metro life and just enjoy tranquility somewhere far nice, right? We are lucky that the Philippines is made up of 7,100 islands in low tide and 7,107 islands in high tide that means beach over here is tremendously plenty and fabulous! And I hope I could go to that 7,107 island of the Philippines. Nice! So ambitious of me! Well who knows?
Ok, enough of my day dreaming, I listed below the must HAVE and some useful tips during summer vacation at a beach.
1.)Wear sun block at least with SPF 50 from head to toe, or if you are really so protective of your skin try Sunplay Super Block with SPF 130 PA++, it’s the highest SPF I’ve seen at Watsons and it cost aprox PHP300. Sun block is very important and it should be on top of the list. Buy sun block that have at least SPF 50 because lower SPF will not give enough skin protection, so if you don’t want to end up applying sun block over and over again, get sun block with the highest SPF.
For face, since make up is inappropriate in a beach and we don’t want our face to be shinny, before putting sun block on face, wash face first with oil control facial wash then use a toner afterwards, face will be less oily for hours. Best oil control I’ve used is Eskinol oil control facial scrub.
TIP: If time to reapply sun block, after applying to face, let it absorb in 1 to 2 minutes then dab face with oil control film/strip to get excess oil.
2.)Plan your outfit. Check your closet and get those summer outfit out of the closet. And then remember the summer clothes you wear last year for your vacation. Why? Because you won’t want to be in a photograph again with the same outfit as last year! Right? Of course, you don’t need to buy new ones; all you need to do is mix and match with all you have. So, segregate your clothes and know your activities in the beach and decide which mix and match of summer clothes that best fit your activities.
TIP: Fold and pack clothe that goes together, for instance shorts and body tank fold together and so on.
Outfit suggestions:
GAP Body Tank +GAP Mini Shorts+Slipper+Shades+Big Hat = Fabulous Beach Strolling Outfit
Cotton Tube Dress+ Long Necklace+ flat sandals= Fabulous Night Beach Party Outfit
Clothes Check List
Swim wears
Shorts
Summer Dress
Tanks
Undies
Shirts
Sleep Wear
3.)Always wear Aqua Shoes when snorkeling or going to other water activities, wearing aqua shoes can prevent from getting cuts from sharp stones and sea urchins.
TIP: if you are in a budget, buy aqua shoes at SM Department Store, they have non- branded aqua shoes that are very durable. Price range from PHP 180-250
So that’s it for now, hope you get something from my simple tips and lets all enjoy summer 2011!

How to be fashionable on a budget
FIRST, I think most important thing to do is to research and know the latest trends this 2009. Know what’s IN and knows what’s OUT. Check out the Internet, magazines and all other portal to know the latest.
SECOND, Check out your wardrobe; know if you got the basic items like jewelries, scarves, belts, hair accessories and shoes that can always be use on your everyday get-ups. Segregate things that can be useful and can’t be used anymore. List down stuff that you don’t have and when buying, prioritize the important items like skirts, pants and jackets.
THIRD, shop on malls on their discount day, yes, sales items are usually out of trend but since you research on the latest fashion items, you have a pretty good idea on which on the sale items can be useful to you.
When buying, make sure you choose the basic colors that could easily mix and match to whatever that is in there on your cabinet. Surely, those old wardrobe you have will turn into dazzling new wardrobe.
And FOURTH, Donate! How is this connected to your being fashionable?? Yes it is connected, because being kind and generous to others is definitely fashionable. Since, you already checked out your wardrobe, and I know, you will found out that you have many clothes and stuffs that you don’t use anymore, so instead of filing up all those things on your cabinet and rot! Why not donate those to the needy instead?

Fashion 2009
Shoes trends
Say goodbye to flats, make wave to stilettos and high heeled shoes. Because for 2009 heels are back! (love it!!!) Yes! For 2009 stilettos are back! And the higher they are, the hotter they look! (Oh Yeah!!!) , Also those sturdy and tapered heels we've just invested before will definitely so hot for 2009, so get those shoes out that closet and show off this 2009. (I’m sorry folks if I’m too excited with heels… it’s obviously my favorite!)
Accessories Trends
of course accessories will be definitely not missing the scene this 2009, if in 2008 the jewel about playing to be the center piece in your outfit, well in 2009 jewel will be teaming up on your outfit, meaning your jewel will blend on the clothe you wear. So Experiment with clashing colors and styles are really our options - we could make them as interesting as possible.
Major jewel statement for 2009 will be tribal design sculpture jewelry and platinum jewelry. Platinum jewelry will play center role this 2009 meaning opulent, large, and eye-catching designs that will still be inspired by nature will be the major trend for accessories this 2009. Wide bracelets and cocktail rings with colored stones from purple, mustard yellow, to emerald green and rusty red will be on display too. For 2009 accessories will gain importance among fashionista in mix matching outfits for their everyday get-ups.
Hair Trends
If for 2008 almost every girl cut their hair shorter, for 2009 short hair will not be a fashion forward, long and mid length hair are so in this 2009, although of course girls have the option to keep their short hair to be like everyone else or opt to be unique and stand out with a new look this 2009. Of course take into consideration the hairstyle that fits your appearance don’t just go with the trend and forgot about the style that really fits your face.
Clothe Trends
2008 is a skinny jeans year, (I totally agree!) all girls and yeah men have it… for 2009, ripped and torn jeans are back! From ripped shorts to skirts to torn denim all these are so in this 2009. Torn or ripped jeans era will certainly look sexy and revealing – possibly more than ever compared when it was a trend during 80’s and the 90’s. Because for 2009 ripped denim trend is all about being sexy and revealing so whether I like it or not shredded jeans will be hitting the streets in 2009.
Color Trends
Flashy color will still be a trend this 2009. Those with saturated bright, sulphur, electricblue, orange, yellow, purple pink and green is still so IN this 2009.
That’s about it hope you enjoy reading! Happy New Year everyone!

Things I’ve learned in joining Bazaars, Fairs and Shows
Since my bazaar escapade is almost over, I should say that joining bazaars or fairs is not an easy way to make a living. It requires research, planning and the ability to keep a smile on your face while standing on your feet for long hours.
I thought joining bazaars is just simple and full of enjoyment. I never thought that whether you will do this as a part time or full time job, you need the same amount of perseverance and hard work. Now, I realized that you should have a vast knowledge on what you are doing to able to have successful bazaars. In joining bazaars, you need to have a "retail personality"! What do I mean by that? I mean, you should be patient, industrious, cheerful, hospitable, positive, out going, friendly, cool tempered, and most important of all is that YOU ARE NOT A QUITER. Because making money at fairs and bazaars isn't as easy as it seems, you don’t make a fortune for the first or second try. You should expect a progress in your profit on your third or fourth day in fairs or bazaars- that is when you learn how to minimize expenses and mastered the skills of budgeting.
Although it seems hard to start on this business, there are opportunities and advantages that you will enjoy when joining fairs or bazaars.
First, joining at fairs or bazaars provides an opportunity to build your business network and find new good customers at a little cost and small capital. Bazaar’s joining fee is minimal that allow sellers to enjoy reasonable mark-ups on items they are selling.
Second, joining at fairs or bazaars does not need you to have a business permit since you don't pay taxes for that one- the organizers are the one responsible for that. So if you are just starting or experimenting on your business, this is the best way to launch your products or services without worrying about government responsibilities.
Third, joining at fairs or bazaars does not only provide a venue for you to boost your business but also for you to improve your interpersonal skills. It will enhance your communication skills and your leadership capabilities.
For me, improvement of interpersonal skills is the most important advantage that you can have when joining bazaars. The interpesonal skills that you developed could help take your business places and will keep your business going.
Below are the things I considered and learned along the way in joining bazaars. Actually I’ve read many tips and techniques in many magazines and websites and I proved that they are really effective, but learning from your actual experience is the best ever. So for those who want to try to join bazaars for their business, here are some tips to consider.
1.) Find a good venue. Not because one venue is offering a lower price, it will be the best place for you. You should first ask yourself the following when selecting your fair venue:
a.) Did they launch successful bazaars the previous year?
b.) Do they have advertisement campaign for their fairs?
c.)Where is it located?
d.)What gimmicks do they have to attract shoppers?
These are the basic questions to remember; you still need to be intellegent when selecting good bazaar venue for your products.
2. Research. Find out who typically attend bazaar, know their target market, is it the Class A people? Class B people? Class C people? From here you will know if your products or services are applicable to their event. Also, find out how much it will cost you when you join their event, calculate travel cost, material cost, booth cost and other expenses that you will shoulder when joining bazaars. Its also best to know your break even point--that is, how many items you need to sell in order to make a profit--before you decide to pack up and go.
3. Watch your expenses. It is important to maintain your expenses to a minimum. If you could share a booth with someone with same category as what you are selling, it will be great. Just make sure that you are selling different items so as to avoid conflict.
4. Product pricing. Add a reasonable mark up to your items, its better to have a little profit on each item than going home without even a cent on your pocket. I know you’ve got to sell more items to cover your cost but its better that way than go back home empty handed.
5. Prepare materials for booth. Aside from the items you are going to sell, you need to prepare materials for the presentation of your booth and selling activities. You need to prepare extra chairs, small table, calculator, plastic bags, table cloth, wire mesh, thumb tacks, scissors, strings, nails, tapes and any brochures or marketing materials you might have. Believe me, all these are very useful when arranging your booth.
6. Dress-Up. Don’t just make your booth presentable, also make an effort to dress-up for your customers. Of course, you don't like people to see you like you haven’t showered for a long time. So make sure you make yourself presentable too.
7. Have a companion. Yes joining a bazaar is exciting and profitable, but it is also physically and emotionally exhausting. That's why it's important to bring along someone to help you with the work at the booth and deal with customers. In our experience, you should at least have three persons in the booth to serve your customers properly.
8. Count your money. After every bazaar, sit down and figure out how much money you made. Calculate how much profit you have. From here it will help you have an analysis whether you made a successful bazaar or not and you will figure out also if the venue you selected is good or not.
